既然有硬頂的DB12,自然也會有開篷的Volante版本,眼前就是DB12 Volante。外觀上兩者沒大分別,不過看清楚點,打開軟篷後的感覺較為漂亮,尤其突顯了車尾流麗的線條。沿用軟篷的傳統在時速50公里以下仍可操作-14秒開篷、16秒關篷,篷頂除了基本的黑色外,還可以選擇紅色、藍色、和銀黑色。動力依然是DB12的4公升V8 twin turbo引擎,馬力671匹,扭力81.6kgm,配8速ZF自動波箱和電子差速鎖,0-100km/h加速3.7秒。新車將在本季開始生產,最快第四季開始交車,遲些還可能會推出插電混能版本。

    古董車的下場不應只存在於博物館和車房。Aston Martin Works決定先發制人,以「古董車電動化計劃」(Heritage EV)為古董車進行全電動的動力系統轉化,告別引擎,迎接電池和摩打,讓古董車不給社會淘汰。不過,古董車不是愈原裝愈值錢嗎?廠方表示,該計劃的目標是在電動化的過程中盡可能保留古董車的原始風味,甚至後悔的話,日後索性把引擎和波箱還原亦得,而第一部作品就是純電動的1970 DB6 MkII Volante。哈,轉速錶、死氣喉和油錶依然健在,是以回歸內燃機世界不成問題。Aston Martin Works大老細Paul Spires說:「駕駛一部經典Aston Martin純電車是獨一無二的體驗,對於很多車主而言,這無疑極為吸引,特別是住在市中心的人們。」Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer表示,他們意識到環保問題和社會壓力將影響古董車,所以將經典汽車電動化,似乎也不無道理。事實上,Aston Martin並不是第一間用電去活化古董車的車廠,Jaguar上年就打造了E-Type Concept Zero,以經典1968 Series I E-Type為本,換走直六引擎,配上22kW電動系統,比普通E-Type輕80kg,還於哈里王子大婚上露面。這條橋……聽落好似幾work喎?

    古董車電動化計劃的第一部作品是純電動的1970 DB6 MkII Volante。
    計劃目標是在電動化的過程中盡可能保留古董車的原始風味,後悔的話隨時可以把引擎和波箱還原。
    這個計劃的特色是回歸內燃機世界不成問題。
